Vampires, ghouls

i have always had a fascination for vampires. When i was younger i loved reading Little Vampire, the Vampire Chronicles and Anne Rice. Lestat the Vampire. I watched the chinese vampire comedy when i was in Primary school - used to rent the 'Happy Ghost' tapes and invite friends over and watch them together. I know they dont exist but the fascination just grows. I watched the HK drama 'Date with the vampire'. It is already in its 3rd season. And then there's underworld last year. In primary school, Sharon and I used to scare each other with ghoul stories. One year when it was nearing the day when 'the gates of hell are open', we emptied our piggy banks and went to buy cross pendants together. Hahaha...then we wore them religiously at school until 'the gates were closed'.

Chapter One:

Ashla was a medical researcher who worked at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kowloon, HK. She was working late through the night as recruitment was brisk through out the day. Patient files were piles up all over her desk as she kicked her chair back, crossed her arms over her head and swirled around to look at the city lights. It was 1.40am. Her tummy protested in hunger over the cookie she had for dinner. Ashla closed the files, grabbed her bag and decided to head to the nearest 7-eleven to grab a bite.

The chilly night air hit her as she stepped out through the sliding hospital doors. Pulling her coat tighter around her, Ashla took a short-cut through the back alley to get to the 24hr provision store. She quickened her steps as she sensed a deep foreboding walking though the alleyway. It was as if someone was watching her. She sighed. Thinking she was probably just tired and over reacting, she slowed her pace. Tap tap tap...the sound of her heels on the pavement. Something heavy hit her back and before she could turn around. She's lost consciousness.

Chapter Two:

Vince has been watching the dark figure as it darted in and out looking for prey. News have spread that a newbie vamp has been creating trouble by preying on humans for blood. Vince has tracked his smell to this alley and now he lies hidden, waiting for the right opportunity to catch the offender.

The drooling dark figure watched as a single person walked through the alley. Driven by hunger, he gave a growl and pounced on her. Vince knocked her out of the way and confronted the attacker. Upon recognizing Vince, it's eyes flashed with fear. Vince: "You know the rules. Im letting you off now because you have just joined us. We have maintained harmony with the humans for years and im not going to let your ill-discipline expose us all. DO NOT let the hunter become the hunted. Fool! Take this pack of blood and report to James now. " The dark figure trembled, bowed his head and darted off into the shadows.

Vince sighed and turned around to look at the human lying unconcious on the pavement. Lifting up her chin gently, he said," Sorry, it was for your good that i knocked you out."
