oh man....drove all the way to buy fish n chippies but the cute guy wasnt there. It was good crap food anywayz..burp* of contentment. Ok finally i shall put something christiany in the blog:
This is from a section of the leadership series from riverview church ...i didnt bring paper ...so was kinda scribbling here and there, hence the bits and pieces. Sermon was based on a couple of lessons learnt from history: The Trojan Horse, Apollo 13 and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Leading life forwards, but understanding life backwards. Mistakes may be made, but whats impt is to learn from them, hence not repeating the mistakes and moving on.
(1) To be humble. (Oh conceited proud ass trojans) Most things in life, a big portion of it is chance. You may be smart, capable, beautiful, watever...but if u arent at the right time at the right place, things wont work out for you. Even if you are not as capable and smart but you happen to be at the right time and place, things will work in your favour. Be humble that you cannot depend on you and you alone but that God's time and place and favour is impt. Be humble to know that you need him and flow with the spirit.
(2) Know your facts. One dont usually get the facts right before jumping to conclusions. Sometimes one forgets to think from the other person's perspective of a situation. (American State secretary's perception of Krushev on war and freedom. You might think bombing them scares them but in actual fact it fuels them with hope that the other parts of the country at war must be winning for the enemy to resort to such tactics - conversation of american state sec with vietnamese/cambodian PM cant recall...)Sometimes not getting the facts right gets you in big trouble. Details are important. Learn the facts before making a decision. A lot of ppl make a lot of noise. But sometimes it is the stutterer/quiet person behind that makes the most sense. Listen to all feedback. (Laocoon and Cassandra, spoke out against the horse, but they were ignored.)
(3) Alleviate the gloom. There is always a solution for every problem. To let go of hope is to let go of everything. Christians have a strong sense of hope. Not an empty "oh...i hope so..." but a strong hope that is purposeful with faith. Spanish saying- hope dies last. (Apollo 13)
