Europe
Just now - a friend fell asleep on the couch and he started snoring and drooling - the works basically ..hahha. It suddenly triggered a thot and reminded me of Junwei who i went travelling with in Europe. Thank God he never snored EXCEPT once in Hungary which is reasonable considering it was a really comfy hotel and we just had a good .. GREAT dinner and plus i probably worked him too hard... I mean we walked too much that day. I had to channel surf in silent mode and listen to him snore until i finally fell asleep. He was great to have as a travelling partner - He waited for me to wake up before he does so basically i get to decide what time we start the day off. He was terribly patient which compensates for my impatience. He sets up traps at the door ...HAHAAA...must be NS training from S'pore....it always sets me laughing really. He is fit so he can keep up with my "let's explore" attitude. He stops me from splurging and drags me out of shops. We ate at the same restaurant twice coz he likes the ambience. We had dinner at this ridiculously expensive terribly tasting place coz i like the decor. We inscribed our names on this clock tower in Innsbruck. He made me cycle up some ridiculously steep hill to get to his Napoleon Castle where his bike broke down. We entered a museum where he fell asleep watching a documentary. I wanted to see flowers so we had to go to flower island. I urge him to jump off a bridge which he did with arms flaying. He taught me how to use a compass and how to pack my bag. I made him climb a hill with a full-pack coz i wanted to stay in a fortress. He had to take multiple pictures of me for each shot coz i was fussy! I did say he was patient! Ok...he reads maps really well, loads faster than me. Looking down a mountain at Innsbruck, it was gorgeous. We attended an opera in Vienna and on the way back we missed our stop 3 times coz we were too engrossed talking. I urged him to go for bodyworks...he turned green and had to sit down for a bit after looking at body parts ..haha. We cheated a couple of times on trains, having second class tix but sitting in first class til the conductor comes along and then we pretended we didnt know English. His suggestion that we carry a set of each other's clothes so that if we ever lose one lugguage, we still have the other person's lugguage and hence a spare set of clothes. I had to take a lift off his bike coz i couldnt ride the bikes in Amsterdam - too high! Fields of sunflowers. Biking against the sunsets. Meeting people. Exchanging cultures. It was an unforgettable trip!! It was a shitload of arguements, compromising, laughter, aching bones, discussions but most of all a heapload of fun. We werent really buddy buddy sorta friends BUT surprisingly we travelled well together! This was the second best trip i've ever undertaken - and he was right, i'll definitely remember him down through the years.
