Vicky
i woke up thinking about Vicky. I know not why. I remembered how i was upset coming home after a test/exam - i made a mistake. A genuine mistake that probably cost me my A. I checked all my books - yep. i made a mistake. A stupid one. One i shouldnt have made. I balled my eyes out and flung every single book on my desk across the room. Fling. Fling. Fling. Just sat on the floor and cried. ( i was really self-pressuring eh?) I felt a lick. Vicky licking those very tears streaming down my face. Giving me her paw as if to console me. i just hugged her and cried more. She kept giving me her paw as if apologizing - afraid she might have done something wrong to upset me so. (she was trained that paw giving was a way of saying 'im sorry') My world doesnt spin around her but her world spinned around my family's.
She was great pals with my favourite gerbil. (i had tons but i just liked this brown male one.) i let the gerbils run around in the balcony sometimes and i make Vicky guard the entrance to the living room. (the balcony connects to the living room, Dad was anal about them chewing his TV and speaker wires) At first, the gerbils didnt come in at all - Vicky did a good job of guarding them. Then....... she allowed them in. Catching them running amok in the house was not very easy i'd tell you. When my brown gerbil was old, ill and passed away whilst i was at a class. Vicky tried her best to inform my sis something was wrong with my gerbil. She pawed my sis, ran to the balcony and pawed the tank (my gerbil's house) and Vicky kept this up repeatedly until my sis decided to follow her out to the balcony to take a look. My sis then realised my fav brown gerbil was dead. Vicky proceeded to sit in front of the tank, looking at her dead friend. Waiting for me to come home.
On the day when Vicky had to be put down. My sisters cried. My mum ( i cant remember if she cried) but i know she loves Vicky .. should have been very upset as well. Vicky knew her days were coming to an end. From the things she did, she knew. Me - i didnt cry at all. I just bled. BLED. 'She was very ill'. 'Better off put to sleep than to have to suffer this'. 'It will be better for her.' I played the logic game with myself. Crimson drops fell. I brought her in to be put to sleep. She was not a dog - she was more human to me. She loved like a human. She thought like a human. She grew up with me. It was because of her that i love dogs so. She was my friend.
